Tutor: Frank Clifford
Solar Arc is one of the most accurate forecasting tools available to astrologers – and perhaps the simplest to pick up and use effectively. In this seminar, you'll learn how to spot and master directions, and apply these techniques to any chart to discover life patterns and key events. Please bring along your charts and share your stories, and we'll watch the horoscopes unfold. Frank will use a series of new examples to show directions at work, and teach you to spot the major life-changing years in childhood and adulthood. (Year 2 and open to all.)
Frank Clifford has been Principal of the LSA since 2004, and has written a dozen books on astrology and palmistry, including Getting to the Heart of Your Chart (Feb 2012) and Palmistry 4 Today (rev.ed. 2010). Last year he published a small book entitled Solar Arc Directions and is currently writing a larger volume.

Getting to the Heart of Your Chart (online)
Saturday 11 February 2012 (online via the www.mayoastrology.com)
Venue: Online (please have a headset)
Tutor: Frank Clifford
When looking at a birth chart, where do you begin? How do you assess what's most important? And how do you spot themes without getting lost in too much detail? No horoscope is difficult to interpret once you've pinpointed its major components. With the help of a reliable method, you can play detective and uncover the key areas in a chart that reveal traits, motivations and major life stories.
This seminar will change the way you read birth charts. Frank will offer a methodical 'way in' to understanding the essential areas and dynamics of any horoscope – and will do so in a clear, entertaining way. With the help of a series of new chart examples, you'll learn: • the 7 major chart considerations • the 5 themes in any horoscope • how to judge planetary strength and influence.
And you'll have fun doing so! This is the first time this interactive event has been available online and presented as a full-day seminar. There'll be lots of new examples. (Open to all. Call the office if you have any questions about the online seminar.)

Passionate Palmistry
Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 February 2012 (open to all, £90 for the weekend/£80 for LSA students and Johnny Fincham students; £50 for one day)
Venue: Hughes Parry Hall, 19–26 Cartwright Gdns, off Euston Road, WC1H 9EF, 10.30am until 4.45pm

A special palmistry event led by a recognized authority, this seminar will focus on sexuality, emotions and relationship. It's possible to establish anyone's romantic and passion potential from a quick look at their palm. You can trace the extent of sensitivity, insecurity, idealism, sex drive, flirtatiousness and much, much more. So many of us carry emotional baggage from our early upbringing unknowingly. You can spot these patterns in the palm quickly and easily. (Open to all. Please note different venue.)
Saturday: the basics of sexual palmistry – lines, digits, mounts and skin texture. Sunday: specific aspects of sexual and romantic drives
Johnny Fincham has studied, researched, practised and written about palmistry for 22 years. His books include The Spellbinding Power of Palmistry and Palmistry: From Apprentice to Pro in 24 Hours. His latest, Palmistry Made Easy, will be published in 2012.

The day will be both informative and experiential through the use of role play and other exercises. (Included in Year 3 and open to all)
Faye Cossar is an astrologer and therapist whose first book, Using Astrology to Create a Vocational Profile, is due for publication in February 2012. Zelda Hall is a psychotherapist with 25 years' experience. So you know something of planets, signs and houses and how to put these together... The next essential component of chart interpretation is the exact relationship between the planets, known as 'aspects'. In this seminar, Sue will guide you through the whole area of aspects, what they are, the different types of aspect, how to use them, orbs and much more. The day will be geared to the needs of students in their first year of study, but may be of interest to others looking for revision and clarity. (Year 1 and open to all.)
Sue Tompkins's books (Aspects in Astrology and The Contemporary Astrologer's Handbook) are considered modern classics. Her Glastonbury residential course on The Astrology of Work, Vocation and Life Purpose takes place on 23–27 April. See the Residential page.
