Those who have some experience with the basics may be able to join in Term Two, which begins on 31 Jan 2017. We now have a Fast Track Beginners' Course on Saturdays, starting 12 November at Regent's University (4 seminars a term, 10.30am to 4.45pm). Please contact the office on 07002 33 44 55 (or 020 8402 7772) if you need further information – or click on our prospectus link. Those with more experience may be interested in our Diploma course which will be held on Wednesdays from 26 October 2016 (see Diploma page). Each year we hold an Open Evening three weeks before the start of class at the same venue (Friends House, 173 Euston Road) and time: 4 October 2016, 7pm to 8.15pm. Our Foundation Course is divided into three terms. Term One and Term Two together create a thorough introduction to astrology in a self-contained course. In Term Three students get to consolidate their interpretation skills and are introduced to basic forecasting techniques.
Students can choose to enrol on a term by term basis. No previous knowledge or special skills are needed and all are welcome. (Students enrolling initially on Term Two or Three will be assumed to be familiar with material already covered in previous terms). On enrolment, students receive a copy of their own birth-chart and during the weekly sessions will also receive various texts and handouts to support their studies. Most/all classes are digitally recorded and download links are sent to students after class. This has proven useful for revision purposes and when students have to miss a class. Students also receive a computer program to calculate and store their own charts.
A simple, step-by-step approach will be employed throughout, with support from your tutor:
In the first term you will be guided through some of the major components of the horoscope - the Planets, Elements and Signs, the Sun–Moon relationship and more.
Tuesdays from 25 October to 13 December 2016 inclusive (eight weeks) plus one Saturday (17 December 2016). And/or Saturdays Fast Track (10.30am to 4.45pm), 12 November, 10 December, 17 December 2016 and 14 January 2017.
You will be introduced to the angles and houses of the horoscope, rulerships, retrogradation, aspects, aspect patterns, chart shapings, the Sun-Moon cycle, nodes, eclipses and basic astronomy. By the end of this term, you will understand something of your own horoscope and that of others. Our aim is that you will have a firm foundation of astrological principles upon which to build further understanding.
Tuesdays from 31 January to 21 March 2017 inclusive (eight weeks) plus one Saturday (25 March 2017). And/or Saturdays Fast Track (10.30am to 4.45pm), 11 February, 11 March, 25 March and 8 April 2017.
In the third term, as well as gaining confidence in and having fun with interpretation, you will learn to spot themes in horoscopes, look at case studies and celebrity charts, and be introduced to forecasting.
Tuesdays from 2 May to 20 June 2017 inclusive (eight weeks) plus one Saturday (24 June 2017). And/or Saturdays Fast Track (10.30am to 4.45pm), 6 May, 10 June, 24 June and 8 July 2017.
Times of weeknight classes: 7pm to 9.30pm. The bulk of classes will be taught by senior tutor Frank Clifford, with support from Kim Farley and Richard Swatton.
FEES (including all books, materials and handouts): Payable in advance £255 for one term or £480 for two terms or £720 for all 3 terms. You can book over the phone or via the web. Visit the Enrolment page for details.
