General & Interpretation

Place your Examination Number on the top right hand corner of every page that you submit.

Time: You will have two full weeks to complete the paper commencing 6th April. Two copies of your answer paper MUST be posted by Monday 22 April 2002.

We recommend that you obtain a Certificate of Posting when you post your paper and that you keep a copy for your own records. Kindly note that examination papers are NOT returned to students.

There are three sections to this paper. You are required to answer ONE question from each section.

Section One carries 50% of the marks and Section Two and Three 25% each. The Pass mark for candidates is 60% on the overall paper.

LSA and the Astrological Guild of Educators are looking for clarity of expression and sound astrological deduction. Statements made without appropriate supporting astrological significators will not receive marks. All significators should appear in the MARGIN and not in the body of your text.

Full acknowledgement of all books/ articles/other material that you have used, must be included.


QUESTION ONE:

Nick, born in September 1966, has a Sun-Uranus conjunction in the 7th house opposition Saturn in the 1st and squaring a Sagittarian Moon. How do you think this T-square will express itself in his relationships and his career?

QUESTION TWO:

Eleanor, born March 1946 has a Mars-Moon-Saturn conjunction in the 3rd house. Discuss how Eleanor may have expressed this in her childhood and later, as an adult after her Saturn return.

Candidates are expected to answer this question as FULLY as they possibly can. Address your answer to the examiner. Keep significators in the margin. Your answer should consist of 1000 -1500 words.

SECTION TWO

Answer one of these two questions. Your essay should not exceed 1200 words (minimum length 600 words). Remember to FULLY acknowledge all works of reference used.


QUESTION THREE:
Write an essay on Mars, explaining in depth, how the planet functions at social, physical, and psychological levels.

QUESTION FOUR:
Explain in general terms the significance of the Angles in a birth chart. Discuss fully the importance of the MC/IC axis and what it represents in the birth-chart.

SECTION THREE:

Answer ONE of these two questions. Your essay should not exceed 700 words (minimum length 500 words). Remember to FULLY acknowledge all works of reference used.


QUESTION FIVE:
Your parents, who are deeply religious, are worried about your interest in astrology. They think that astrology is anti-religious and are concerned that you are being brainwashed and becoming involved with the 'devil's work'.

Write an essay explaining your understanding of astrology. What would you say to reassure your parents?

In the light of Shakespeare's words from 'Julius Caesar', how would you defend the use of a natal chart in modern times?
